New Approach to a Common Species: Reevaluating Gray Squirrel Rehabilitation
Dani Stumbo, a rehabilitator from the Wildlfe Center of Virginia, will present a 1.5 hour class on squirrel rehabilitation as part of WRL's March 6th membership meeting. Continuing Education Credit will be given. The class, which will be free to all attendees, will begin at 11:30 AM. The regular WRL meeting will begin at 11:00 AM as usual. A description of Dani's class follows:
The Wildlife Center of Virginia uses a combination of the scientific method, natural history and experience to provide the best possible care to all of its patients. This talk is meant to show how we combine these three methods into wildlife rehabilitation using the Eastern Gray Squirrel as an example species. Though geared towards the Eastern Gray Squirrel, the fundamentals of this discussion can be applied to all wildlife species and rehabilitation practices. A brief discussion of squirrel diseases and ailments will also be covered.
