Wildlife Rescue League is

Putting Down Roots

For over 40 years, Wildlife Rescue League has been entirely powered by volunteers—dedicated individuals who run our operations, including nearly 40 local wildlife rehabilitators, a transportation team, and a wildlife helpline. Thanks to the generous support of our community, we’ve continued to thrive and make a difference.

Now, we’re embarking on our most exciting chapter yet:

building a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

to better serve the natural environment we’re proud to protect.

Putting Down Roots Capital Campaign

The Putting Down Roots campaign underscores WRL’s commitment to creating a lasting impact and provides an unprecedented opportunity to expand our capacity to care for injured and orphaned wildlife in Virginia. By contributing to this initiative, donors will play a direct role in preserving our region’s biodiversity and supporting a more sustainable future for the wildlife we share our environment with. Every gift, whether large or small, brings us closer to this vision.

Wildlife Rescue League seeks to secure $1.6M in one-time gifts and multi-year pledges to raise the necessary funds to build, furnish, equip, staff, and operate the new Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

There are many gift recognition opportunities at various levels, providing a meaningful way to honor contributions and showcase donor support. Join us in Putting Down Roots for Virginia’s native wildlife. Together, we can ensure that animals in need receive the care they deserve and that our community continues to thrive alongside its wild inhabitants. Your support will leave a legacy of compassion, care, and conservation for generations to come.
