Relocating Wildlife

It is illegal to relocate wildlife. Someone advised a caller to relocate a squirrel’s nest. Squirrels are very territorial and will not welcome newcomers into their territory.

Box Turtles: Box turtles should NOT be removed from where they were found. They are very territorial and do not survive if they are relocated to a new area. They depend on their familiarity with their territory for food and shelter. If the turtle is not injured, please ask the caller to return it to where they found it.
