Volunteer Spotlight – Caroline Chadbourne

Caroline Chadbourne has been a helpline volunteer with WRL since January 2025, finding the organization through Volunteer Arlington while looking for a way to put her lifelong love of animals to good use.

She may not yet have one standout story to point to, but her favorite calls are the ones where baby birds, squirrels, and bunnies are successfully reunited with their mothers. This serves as a reminder of why this work matters so much. She also recently handled a call about a pair of orphaned baby mice that one of WRL’s dedicated rehabbers was able to take in and care for. What strikes Caroline most about her time with WRL is seeing how deeply committed everyone is. Callers, rehabbers, and fellow volunteers alike are all united by a genuine desire to help animals.

Outside of volunteering, Caroline enjoys film photography, knitting, and baking, three hobbies that reflect the same patience and attention to detail she brings to her WRL work.

Wildlife Rescue League offers thanks to the dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and hearts to helping injured and orphaned wildlife. The spotlight will feature exceptional individuals whose diverse skills and unwavering commitment exemplify the spirit of WRL.

Volunteer Spotlight is brought to you by Andres Soria. Andres joined WRL’s Marketing Committee in 2022 and is one of our go-to photographers. In his time off, he enjoys wildlife photography, hiking, and biking.
