When she is not volunteering, she works as a rabies specialist for Fairfax County’s Health Department, serving as a consultant for potential rabies exposures and recommending vaccination to residents. Volunteering with Wildlife Rescue League has been a fun way for Kirsten to connect with partners she works with in her job, including animal control and wildlife rehabilitators. She holds both a bachelor’s in animal science and a master’s in public health from Virginia Tech.
Outside of work and volunteering, Kirsten enjoys reading in large quantities (around 150 books a year!), watching medical dramas on TV, collecting vinyl, and cheering on Washington sports teams. Go Caps!
Wildlife Rescue League offers thanks to the dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and hearts to helping injured and orphaned wildlife. The spotlight will feature exceptional individuals whose diverse skills and unwavering commitment exemplify the spirit of WRL.
Volunteer Spotlight is brought to you by Andres Soria. Andres joined WRL’s Marketing Committee in 2022 and is one of our go-to photographers. In his time off, he enjoys wildlife photography, hiking, and biking.
